Trainers, the 2D sprites for Kyogre were found in the network traffic by Chrales. This would seem to be the final piece of evidence to confirm that Kyogre will be released after Groudon. New Legendary Eggs should begin to appear at 4 P.M. (Eastern Time) on Monday, January 15, 2018.
PREPARATION: With Kyogre coming soon, you'll want to make sure to invest some Stardust and / or Rare Candy to get ready. As a pure Water-type, Kyogre is weak to Electric-type and Grass-type attacks. Raikou, Jolteon, and Ampharos are your best choices for counters.
Zapdos, Dragonite, and the Grass-types (such as Sceptile and Venusaur) will take super-effective damage if the Kyogre has Blizzard, so be wary. High-damage Water-types, such as Gyarados, and the Water-and-Grass-type Ludicolo will take super-effective damage if the Kyogre has Thunder, so also consider that fact.
WEATHER-CONCERNS: When we say "weather-concerns," we don't mean the in-game weather. In our local area, we had some relief in winter weather recently. Even at a prime spot and time for Raiding, we were unable to gather enough Trainers for a Groudon Raid.
This has been the story of our recent Raiding experience, and we hope that Niantic takes the winter weather plaguing the United States into account when releasing Kyogre. Hopefully, Kyogre will also be around for a month. Make sure to perfect your throws and use your Golden Razz Berries wisely, because the first few days of Kyogre's cycle will be your best chance of getting one.
Thanks for reading, Trainers. Stay tuned for the latest Pokémon developments here and on Twitter (@PNN_APTV).
