Pokémon GO is getting some minor festivities to celebrate Pokémon's birthday! Like last year, they are minor, but they are noteworthy.
NEW AVATAR ITEMS: Your avatar can now wear the outfits of the playable character from Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen. Unfortunately, these clothing items are not free. If your access to PokéCoins is limited, we recommend not spending your money on them.
PARTY-HAT PIKACHU: The party-hat wearing Pikachu is returning! Normally, we wouldn't be excited by this, but Niantic has actually made it worth our while this year! Until February 28 at 1:00 P.M. (PT), these special Pikachu will be giving increased Stardust! They'll also know the move Present. And, best of all, they can be Shiny!
