Save candy for Gen 4!

Here's the first article of our Generation 4 Preview series! This installment will focus on what Candy you need to save for the many new evolutions. Start saving now, because, as we explained in yesterday's article, Generation 4 could be only a few months away!

ELECTABUZZ CANDY: Electabuzz gains an evolution in the form of Electivire. We expect the evolution to cost 50 or 100 Candy, plus a new Evolution Item: an Electirizer.

MAGMAR CANDY: Magmar gains an evolution in the form of Magmortar. We expect the evolution to cost 50 or 100 Candy. Additionally, we expect you will need a Magmarizer.

TANGELA CANDY: Tangela gains an evolution in the form of Tangrowth. We expect the evolution to cost 50 Candy.

​YANMA CANDY: Yanma gains an evolution in the form of Yanmega. We expect the evolution to cost 50 Candy.

MURKROW CANDY: The obnoxious and ubiquitous Murkrow gains an evolution in the form of Honchkrow. The evolution should cost 50 Candy. Additionally, evolving a Murkrow should also require a Dusk Stone.

SWINUB CANDY: Piloswine gains an evolution in the form of Mamoswine. We expect it to cost 100 Candy to evolve a Piloswine into Mamoswine.

NOSEPASS CANDY: Nosepass gains an evolution in the form of Probopass. We expect the evolution will cost 50 Candy.

​MISDREAVUS CANDY: Misdreavus gains an evolution in the form of Mismagius. The evolution should cost 50 Candy. Like Murkrow, Misdreavus should require a Dusk Stone to evolve.

TOGEPI CANDY: Togetic gains an evolution in the form of Togekiss. The evolution should cost 50 or 100 Candy. It will also require a Shiny Stone.

AIPOM CANDY: Aipom gains an evolution in the form of Ambipom. The evolution should cost 50 Candy.

RHYHORN CANDY: Rhydon gains an evolution in the form of Rhyperior. The evolution should cost 100 Candy. Additionally, we expect the evolution to also require a Protector.

SNEASEL CANDY: Sneasel gains an evolution in the form of Weavile. We expect he evolution will require 50 Candy, plus a Razor Claw.

LICKITUNG CANDY: Lickitung gains an evolution in the form of Lickilicky. We expect it will cost 50 Candy to evolve a Lickitung into Lickilicky.

MAGNEMITE CANDY: Magneton gains an evolution in the form of Magnezone. We expect the evolution to cost 100 Candy.

​PORYGON CANDY: Porygon2 gains an evolution in the form of Porygon-Z. We expect the evolution will cost 100 Candy. Additionally, you'll need a Dubious Disc.

DUSKULL CANDY: Dusclops gains an evolution in the form of Dusknoir. We expect the evolution to cost 100 Candy, plus a Reaper Cloth.

GLIGAR CANDY: Gligar gains an evolution in the form of Gliscor. We expect the evolution cost 50 Candy. It will also need a new Evolution Item: the Razor Fang.

RALTS CANDY: Kirlia gains an alternate evolution in the form of Gallade. We expect the evolution to cost 100 Candy, plus a Dawn Stone. In the main-series games, only male Kirlia can evolve into Gallade. Keep that in mind when picking a good Ralts / Kirlia to save.

SNORUNT CANDY: Snorunt also gains an alternative evolution in Generation 4 in the form of Froslass. We expect the evolution to cost 50 Candy and a Dawn Stone. In the main-series games, only female Snorunt can evolve into Froslass. Keep that in mind when picking a good (Shiny) Snorunt to save.

EEVEE CANDY: Eevee gains two new evolutions in Generation 4. As with the other Eeveelutions, we expect it to cost 25 Candy to evolve Eevee into Leafeon or Glaceon.

ROSELIA CANDY: Roselia gains an evolution in the form of Roserade. We expect it to cost 50 or 100 Candy, plus a Shiny Stone, to evolve a Roselia.

​HONORABLE MENTIONS: Finally here are the honorable mentions: the new Baby Pokémon.
  • Bonsly (The baby form of Sudowoodo)
  • Munchlax (The baby form of Snorlax)
  • Happiny (The baby form of Chansey)
  • Budew (The baby form of Roselia)
  • Mime Jr. (The baby form of Mr. Mime)
  • Mantyke (The baby form of Mantine)
  • Chingling (The baby form of Chimecho)
