Trainers, the Japanese Pokémon GO website has revealed the details of the Kanto event ahead of the English announcement. Be aware that the translation may not be completely accurate, so make sure to keep your eyes on our Twitter page and this article for when the English announcement goes live.
INCREASED SPAWNS: The event, which will be dubbed "Kanto Week," will have increased spawn rates of Charmander, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, and Squirtle. The event will last from April 10 (today) to April 17.
DOUBLE CANDY: Candy rewards will be doubled for catching and transferring Pokémon. This means that people holding on to bad-IV Lugia, Rayquaza, or other rare Pokémon will be free to transfer them later today (the event will likely begin at the usual 1:00 PM PDT).
NEW RAID BOSSES & SALE: New Kanto-themed Raid Bosses will be added. Snorlax and Aerodactyl were explicitly mentioned. A new sale, which features Premium Raid Passes, will also go into effect.
SPECULATION: Now it's time to speculate!

- Given the fact that Bulbasaur and Pikachu already have their Shiny variants, but Charmander and Squirtle do not, we expect the Shiny Squirtle and Charmander lines to be introduced. Be aware that Shiny Charizard's sprite was not discovered over the weekend, so that could throw a wrench into this theory.
- Aerodactyl and Snorlax being specifically named seems interesting. Sure, many people still need them for their Pokédex, but just as many do not. To incentivize certain Trainers to do these Raids, it would make sense to make them be able to be Shiny (both of their Shiny sprites were among those discovered this weekend).
- As for other Kantonian Raid Bosses that could be added, Lapras and the Kanto starters are the first possibilities that come to mind. Arcanine, Alakazam, and Ninetales are other likely possibilities.
