Along with the new Gym system's launch came the launch of the Raid Battle beta. To participate, a Trainer must be Level 35 - 40. Those Trainers will be able to buy Premium Raid Passes in the in-game Shop, receive a Free Raid Pass from the Photo Disc at a Gym, and commence Raids in select Gyms around the world. Niantic has announced on Twitter that lower-level Trainers will be able to participate soon. Likely, the new minimum level will be Level 30. The select Gyms will likely be those in large cities (major cities and state capitals). Eventually, Raids will be open to all Trainers and all Gyms around the world. PNN's highest-level correspondent is currently Level 31, so we will be able to bring you a first-hand Raid account soon. In the meantime, check out the first-ever YouTube video showing a Raid Battle, courtesy of Reversal.
