Pokémon GO has been around for a year, Trainers! In that year over 125 billion Pokémon have been caught! This is a very remarkable accomplishment, and Niantic has kicked off the next leg of their celebration.
Pikachu wearing the hats of the Pokémon anime's protagonist, Ash Ketchum, will be spawning in the wild from today until July 24, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. (PDT). From the reports coming in, Raichu and (finally) Pichu are also costume-bearing.
For the same time period, the Anniversary Box will be purchasable in the Shop. The box costs 1200 PokéCoins. It contains six Incubators, six Max Revives, two Premium Raid Passes, and 20 Ultra Balls.
Before you complain, Niantic has said that this entire summer is the celebration of the game's anniversary. It began with the Gym rework and Raids, and will include GO Fest, Pikachu Outbreak, and the Unibail-Rodamco events. Niantic promised new details on these three events in the coming weeks. Remember, Trainers around the world will be able to participate in GO Fest in some fashion.
To wrap this up, PNN is proud to be one of your sources for all Pokémon GO-related news. Even though we've been around for one month instead of one year, we will continue to bring you all of the game's news for the next year.
