Two big stories broke today: GO Fest refund details and the release of Zapdos and Moltres. Here's what we know about them.
LEGENDARIES: On July 31, Moltres will start appearing in Level 5 Raids. At the same time, Articuno will stop appearing. On August 7, Zapdos will replace Moltres in Raids. Although we knew that the other two Legendary Birds will soon be released, we did not expect that they would replace on another. This may be a sign of a trend. Ho-Oh may replace Lugia when it is released. The Legendary Beasts of Johto, the Ultra Beasts of Alola, the Lake Guardians of Sinnoh, and other Legendary teams may also have a rotating schedule once released.
GO FEST REFUNDS: The email containing details on refunds was sent out today. Refund requests must be submitted by 11:59 P.M. (CT) on August 27. All refunds will be processed by September 1. Within the next seven business days, the free Lugia and the $100 in PokéCoins (14,500 Coins) will be distributed to all accounts checked in with a QR Code.
This is just speculation, but it seems possible that a, or, at least, some, Shiny Lugia could be distributed. With Lugia and Articuno already having a 100% catch-rate, it seems that Niantic really needs to do something more special to make up for the lackluster event.
We'll have to see, Trainers! Get excited for Moltres in five days!
