Pokémon GO is being updated with some interesting and well-needed updates. Below is what Niantic announced:
- Spark again appraises Team Instinct's Pokémon (Thanks for filling in, Candela!)
- iPhone 6 crashing issue resolved
- A freeze-bug after applying Potions rapidly has been fixed
- A freeze-bug after all Pokémon faint during a Raid has been fixed
- A bug that effected the motivation-decay of Pokémon with a CP-count of less than 3000 has been fixed
The middle three updates were some of the ones impacting GO Fest attendees, so it's good to see Niantic fixed them before other real-world and in-game events. It is also nice for Team Instinct to have their team leader back from his summer vacation. Thanks to Candela for pulling double-duty! But it's the final update that is the most interesting.
PNN and other Pokémon GO news sources have reported in the past that Pokémon above CP3000 don't make good defenders over their much higher decay rate. These sources speculated this was Niantic's way of keeping high-CP Pokémon like Tyranitar and Snorlax out of EVERY Gym. It turns out this was a glitch. All Pokémon will now have this high decay rate, which should lead to higher Gym turnover.
Some good updates / changes have been made by Niantic. Stay tuned for any hidden discoveries, Trainers!
