Breaking news! Niantic has just released a new trailer for the Halloween Event and revealed when we might see the rest of the Generation 3 Pokémon!
SPOOKY SPAWNS: Gengar, Zutat, Drowzee, and Cubone are all making a return appearance this Halloween! They'll be joined by the five Ghost-types we saw in the leaked loading screen (Sableye, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull, and Dusclops), and, no doubt, some other creepy Pokémon from Generation 2. Also, the special witch-hat Pikachu will be spawning during this terrorizing timeframe.
EVENT AWARDS: Special gift boxes containing Super Incubators and Raid Passes will be a part of the Halloween event. They'll be accompanied by double the Candy reward from all methods. The event will last from October 20 (tomorrow) at 12:00 P.M. PT until November 2, so make sure to take advantage of it! Your avatar can also wear the new Mimikyu Hat.
GENERATION 3 RELEASE: This is the most unfortunate part of Niantic's announcement, and it really destroys a lot of the hype we had from last night. We are incredibly sad to report that the rest of the Gen 3 Pokémon won't be released until December (at the earliest). Niantic also said that they'll be released gradually. Hopefully this is to give them time to rework the battle system and add Abilities, but it really is incredibly unfortunate. On a positive note, they at least gave us a tentative release date this time.
