Counters

Rayquaza

Rayquaza is the best counter to Breloom. Its massive attack stat combined with Breloom's enormous weakness to Flying-type attacks make for a devastating combination.

Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Air Slash
  • CHARGED MOVE: Aerial Ace

Ho-Oh

Ho-Oh is the second-best counter to Breloom. Ho-Oh has a variety of super-effective attacks, and resists both Breloom's Grass-type attacks and its Fighting-type attacks.

Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Extrasensory
  • CHARGED MOVE: Brave Bird, Fire Blast

Lugia

Lugia is also a good counter. Like Ho-Oh, it has a variety of super-effective attacks to use against Breloom. Its natural bulk will also allow it to take Breloom's hits quite well.

Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Extrasensory
  • CHARGED MOVE: Sky Attack, Future Sight

Mewtwo

Mewtwo and its high damage output also make for a great counter to Breloom. If you've managed to get an EX Raid Pass, definitely consider putting this Legendary Pokémon in your battle party.

Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Psycho Cut
  • CHARGED MOVE: Psychic

Moltres

Moltres is also a great choice to counter Breloom. Like Ho-Oh and Rayquaza, Moltres resists all of Breloom's attacks (excluding Sludge Bomb). Moltres' high attack stat allows it to deal a good amount of damage.

Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Fire Spin
  • CHARGED MOVE: Overheat

Other  viable  counters

Fairy-type attacks also deal super-effective damage. Granbull and Gardevoir are the best Fairy counters. Be wary of a Sludge Bomb, though.

For alternative Fire-types, Entei, Charizard, Blaziken, Typhlosion, Flareon, Houndoom, and Arcanine are best.

If you're looking for a Poison-type, go with Muk. If you're going for raw damage, Dragonite and Salamence are best.

Articuno is the best Ice-type counter. Pidgeot can be useful as a Flying-type counter. Espeon and Alakazam are the best alternative Psychic-types.
