Overview

After beating your Claydol, look for the following CP values. These values are those of a Claydol with perfect IV's.
  • REGULAR: 1018
  • WEATHER: 1272

Claydol has 140 attack, 236 defense, 120 stamina. As a Raid Boss, it has a CP of 13450.

Claydol is a Ground-type and a Psychic-type. It has access to the following moves:
  • FAST MOVES: Confusion, Extrasensory
  • CHARGED MOVES: Gyro Ball, Earthquake, Psychic

Counters

kyogre

Kyogre is the best counter to Claydol. It hits hard and fast with Water- and Ice-type attacks, and will be able to take Claydol's hits well.

  • FAST MOVE: Waterfall
  • CHARGED MOVE: Hydro Pump, Blizzard

scizor

Scizor is the second-best counter to Claydol. It attacks very quickly, and with a lot of power. It also won't take super-efective damage from any of Claydol's moves.

​Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Fury Cutter
  • CHARGED MOVE: X-Scissor

gyarados

Gyarados is the third-best counter to Claydol. It attacks with a lot of power and speed. Gyarados also has access to a variety of super-effective moves.

  • FAST MOVE: Bite, Waterfall
  • CHARGED MOVE: Hydro Pump, Crunch

articuno

Articuno is also a good counter to Claydol. It is the best Ice-type counter, and can take hits well. Be wary of a Gyro Ball, however.

  • FAST MOVE: Frost Breath
  • CHARGED MOVE: Ice Beam, Blizzard

sceptile

Sceptile is a great option. It is one of the fastest, strongest counters we have. It is a bit of a glass cannon, so try to dodge Charged Attacks if you aren't experiencing issues.

  • FAST MOVE: Fury Cutter, Bullet Seed
  • CHARGED MOVE: Leaf Blade

Tyranitar

Tyranitar can be useful as a counter to Claydol. It attacks with quick, super-effective damage. Be wary, however, as Earthquake and Gyro Ball both deal super-effective damage against Tyranitar.

  • FAST MOVE: Bite
  • CHARGED MOVE: Crunch

other  viable  counters

For Grass-types, Exeggutor, Tangela, Victreebel, Venusaur, and Meganium are your best choices.

For Ghost-types, Banette, Gengar, and Mewtwo (with Shadow Ball) are best. Mewtwo, along with Dragonite, can provide raw damage.

Feraligatr, Lapras, Milotic, Blastoise, Walrein, Kingdra, Swampert, and Vaporeon are the best alternative Water-types. A Salamence with Hydro Pump can also be useful.

​Absol, Umbreon, Sharpedo, and Houndoom are the best alternative Dark-types. Heracross & Pinsir can be used as Bug-type counters.
