Overview

After beating your Machamp, look for the following CP values. These values are those of a Machamp with perfect IV's.
  • REGULAR: 1650
  • WEATHER: 2063

Machamp has 234 attack, 162 defense, 180 stamina. As a Raid Boss, it has a CP of 18144.

Machamp is a Fighting-type. It has access to the following moves:
  • FAST MOVES: Counter, Bullet Punch
  • CHARGED MOVES: Close Combat, Heavy Slam, Dynamic Punch

Counters

Mewtwo

Mewtwo's massive attack stat combined with super-effective, Psychic-type attacks make it the best counter to Machamp. It is a bit of a glass cannon, so try to dodge if you can.

  • FAST MOVE: Psycho Cut, Confusion
  • CHARGED MOVE: Psychic

Rayquaza

Rayquaza is the second-best counter to Machamp. It resists Machamp's Fighting-type moves, and hits hard with its sky-high attack stat.

​Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Air Slash, Dragon Tail
  • CHARGED MOVE: Aerial Ace, Outrage

Dragonite

Dragonite is a very similar counter to Rayquaza. While it does have less attack, it can take Machamp's hits better. It's Flying-type attacks are stronger than Rayquaza's.

​Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Dragon Tail
  • CHARGED MOVE: Hurricane, Outrage

Metagross

Metagross is also a great counter to Machamp. It's pseudo-Legendary stats give it a lot of power, and its Psychic-typing balances out the Steel-typing's weakness to Fighting-type attacks.

  • FAST MOVE: Zen Headbutt
  • CHARGED MOVE: Psychic

Ho-Oh

Ho-Oh is a great counter to Machamp. Its Legendary attack stat backs up the power of Ho-Oh's super-effective moves. Additionally, Ho-Oh resists all of Machamp's moves.

​Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Extrasensory
  • CHARGED MOVE: Brave Bird

Gardevoir

Gardevoir is a great counter to Machamp. It is very resistant to Machamp's Fighting-type attacks, but weak to Machamp's Steel-type attacks. It is a glass cannon, so be careful.

​Here are the moves you'll want:
  • FAST MOVE: Confusion
  • CHARGED MOVE: Psychic

Other  viable  counters

For alternative Flying-types, Lugia Charizard, and Pidgeot are your best choices. They also resist Machamp's Fighting-type attacks.

For Fairy-type counters, Wigglytuff, Granbull, and Clefable are your best alternatives to Gardevoir. Be cations when using them, as Machamp has access to super-effective, Steel-type attacks.

For raw damage, use Moltres and Salamence. They have some of the highest attack stats in the game.

For other Psychic-types, Exeggutor, Alakazam, Espeon, and Mew are your best choices. Like the Flying-types, they also resist Machamp's Fighting-type attacks.
