Niantic has, seemingly, been instructed by their partners at the Pokémon Company to do something to celebrate the new main-series games. So, you'll now be able to dress your avatar in clothing of the male and female protagonists from Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon.

Niantic promised a news update over one week ago. Their self-set timeline of one week has expired, with the only news coming out this week being the new, Alolan avatar clothing. That avatar clothing is far from their promised "update ... on upcoming improvements to certain features."
That said, with Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon being released this week, this may be the Pokémon Company's doing. With Thanksgiving being this Thursday, we may see news about an upcoming event and the promised update early on in the week.

3. "53 reasons Pokemon go is dying"
Nick (Trainer Tips) tweeted this week, saying he wants people to reply with the one thing that they want fixed and / or added to Pokémon GO the most. It immediately became one of his most viral tweets. At the time of writing this article, the tweet has just under 2,000 replies. He turned the tweet into a video, highlighting 53 of those responses.
Many Trainers voiced their desperation for a better EX Raid system. More solo-able activities, new Pokémon, daily quests, a battle-system update, and player-versus-player battles were also quite popular responses.

4. update: Pokemon ultra sun, pokemon ultra moon, pokemon duel
ULTRA SUN & ULTRA MOON: The latest main-series games were released on Friday, November 17, 2017. USUM provides an enhanced look, roster of features, and story to their Sun and Moon predecessors. Highlights of these new games include new Ultra Beasts, new forms of Lycanroc and Necrozma, and the story of Necrozma's power and Team Rainbow Rocket.
DUEL EVENT: The Queen Cup Carnival Event is ongoing in Pokémon Duel. In addition to many special rewards (Booster Tickets, Carmonite, and EX Materials), the standout is an exclusive, Shiny Ho-Oh figurine. The event will end, according to Serebii, on November 20, 2017.
