EX Raid field testing has begun! Select Gyms have access to these Raids (containing Mewtwo) currently, but more and more are being added. Currently, they are only in New York City, Japan, and the American west coast.
EX Raid Passes were originally given out 48 hours ahead, but Niantic decreased it to 24. The Raid originally lasted for two hours, but it has been decreased to one. Remember, Niantic said they would be tweaking these things during the testing phase.
2. the pokemon go safari zone events: new details
New details have been revealed for the Safari Zone events. The event has nontransferable tickets to enter the mall, which sold out faster then tickets to Pokémon GO Fest Chicago. But, for those who are ticketless, the entire city will also feature a toned-down version of the event.
The event will feature the following: Kangaskhan, increase of rare spawns (such as Chansey & Larvitar), a variety of Unown, and no Raids in the mall to improve connectivity.
NEW DATES: The events in Denmark and the Czech Republic are rescheduled for October 7. The events in Sweden and the Netherlands are rescheduled for October 14.
3. PNN project
THIS WEEK ON PNN: Check back on Tuesday for an article on why Niantic needs to implement more than two signature moves into Pokémon GO. And, as always, the breaking news of the day. On top of that, we are hoping to start the Gen 3 Preview series this week.
4. hints at new search bar functionality coming soon
New text assets are being downloaded: filter_key_legendary and filer_key_defender. This means that a future update will allow us to use the search bar to scan for Legendaries and defending Pokémon.
5. new in-game t-shirt discovered
Niantic and the Pokémon Company are partners of the Global Goals initiative and Project Everyone. This means they might put on an in-game event for Global Goals Week (which is later this month, lasting from September 16 to September 23). This theory is further supported by the new male and female T-shirts being downloaded by the game (although they are not currently available). SOURCE FOR 4, 5: GO Hub
6. The return of raid eggs
If you haven't been out Raiding the past few days, you may not know that the Raid Eggs have returned. Many people seem to hate the Eggs, mostly because of the decrease of Raid time and the increase of wait time.
Please, if you agree that the Raid Eggs are not good for the game, tweet Niantic, the Pokémon Company, and your favorite YouTubers the hashtag #RemoveRaidEggs.
